Park man fined for police bomb abuse
A 20-year-old man has been ordered to pay a total of £500 for shouting abuse at police officers in Claudy.
Londonderry Magistrates Court was told that Francis Devine, from Millside Crescent in Park, shouted "I hope you get blown up, I hope there is a bomb in that bin in front of you."
The defendant pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly behaviour outside a bar in Main Street last month.
He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £300 to the PSNI's Benevolent Fund.
The court was told that the defendant was heavily intoxicated at the time.
The District Judge, Barney McElholm, said Devine's comments were "completely disgraceful remarks for one human being to make to others."
