Londonderry men fined for abusive behaviour on flight

Two Londonderry men have been fined £750 each at Londonderry Magistrates Court for being drunk and abusive on board a flight.

John Patrick Johnston from Carnhill and Paul Daniel McIntyre from Ederowen Park are both aged 32 and unemployed.

They pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening, abusive and insulting manner towards a female cabin crew member and being drunk while on a Ryanair flight from Stansted to City of Derry Airport on the 16th of August last year.

District judge Barney McElholm was told that the only sentence he could impose was a monetary penalty.

He said if he had been able to impose another sentence he would have done so.
