Elderly residents in Londonderry treated for flu-like illness
Eleven residents at a nursing home in Londonderry are being treated for a flu-like illness.
The pensioners at Seymour Gardens Care Home in the Waterside are receiving antibiotics.
The Western Trust has also informed the Public Health Agency.
Alan Corry-Finn, from the Trust says increased control measures are in place.
"These residents suffer from dementia. They're all mobile," he said.
"It's almost impossible to stop people from moving around but what we are doing is making sure is that there are good hand hygiene practises and discouraging visitors who may either if it is flu take it out into the community or bring something like that back in."
