Police to probe fire at Limavady fire station
The cause of a fire at Limavady Fire Station last week is now being investigated by the police.
They are assisting the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) as they try to find out how the fire started.
The blaze broke out in the drying room of the part-time station on Catherine Street last Wednesday morning.
A local firefighter was alerted by a smoke alarm and it took about one hour to bring the fire under control.
Firefighters from Dungiven and Londonderry assisted at the scene.
A Fire Service spokesman said there had been some damage to a lecture room but fire appliances were not damaged and the station remained operational.
