15-year-old Londonderry youth on petrol bomb charges

A 15-year-old student has appeared at Londonderry Youth Court charged with committing seven public order offences.

The alleged offences occurred during disturbances in the Bogside following last month's Apprentice Boys Parade.

The charges against the youth include possessing petrol bombs and throwing petrol bombs at police officers.

District Judge Barney McElholm described the charges as very serious. He released the teenager on bail to appear in court again next month

As part of his bail conditions, the youth must not approach within 200m any public order incidents or bonfires.

He is also banned from unsupervised attendance in any public place with three or more people.
