Farmer in Londonderry court charged with stealing sheep

A 53-year-old sheep farmer has appeared at Londonderry Magistrates' Court charged with stealing sheep.

Samuel George Leslie, from Longland Road in Claudy, is charged with stealing 10 white-faced Texel hoggats and with fraud by falsely presenting them for sale at a market.

He is further charged with dishonestly receiving the stolen sheep on 26 May.

He was then released on continuing police bail and will appear in court again on November 22.
