Power restored to 1,400 custom in Coleraine

Northern Ireland Electricity has restored electricity to customers following a power cut in Coleraine, County Londonderry.

The power company says the fault was caused when a contractor working on the gas network hit a high voltage cable in the Tate's Lane area of the town.

It happened at about 10:35 BST on Thursday.

The power cut lasted about three hours, and affected about 1,400 homes and businesses.
