A 24-year-old drug dealer has been jailed for 15 months at Londonderry Crown Court.

Brian Thomas Boyle from Glenabbey Park, Derry, admitted supplying and possessing drugs.

He was caught with quantities of ecstasy, mephedrone, 4-MEC and cannabis when he was stopped and searched by police officers in September last year.

Boyle's mobile phone was also examined and was found to contain 11 incriminating drugs-related texts.

"Untold misery"

The court was told that one of the text messages was from a person who complained about the quality of drugs he received from Boyle.

A pre-sentence report stated that Boyle, a drug addict, sold drugs to pay off a debt.

Jailing Boyle for 15 months, the judge said people who dealt in drugs would go to jail because their behaviour spread untold misery to those people they sold drugs to.
