Tributes have been paid to the Londonderry businessman and tour guide Martin McCrossan who has died aged 53.

Mr McCrossan, who founded Derry City Tours more than 20 years ago, died on Friday after a short illness.

He received the Northern Ireland Tourist Board's tourism hero award in 2013 .

Derry business leaders have described him as a "Titan" of the tourism industry.

'Legacy'

Speaking to BBC Radio Foyle, businessman Brendan Duddy said he would be sorely missed.

"I knew Martin my whole life, it's absolutely devastating on a personal basis, and difficult to talk about.

"People knew Martin very well and how good a human being he was, to his family, friends and the people of this town," he added.

"Beyond good, he was a Titan. Derry is a lesser place today without him but his legacy for the city will live on."
