Two men in Londonderry court over drugs charges

Two 50-year-old men have been charged with possession of cannabis thought to be worth more than £400,000.

Liang Sheng Wu of no fixed abode and Rui Ding from Carricknakielt Lane, Magherafelt, County Londonderry, are also charged with possessing with intent to supply, cultivating cannabis.

They are also accused of tampering with an electricity meter.

The drugs were found during a search in the Carricknakielt Lane area of Magherafelt on Tuesday.

Both men have been remanded in custody for a video link hearing on 11 June.

Mr Wu is further charged with committing similar offences at an address in Carrickmore, County Tyrone, where £200,000 worth of cannabis was discovered in a house on 17 September 2014.
