Dodds hopes Rangers fans don't miss the boat

Nigel Dodds has called on ferry companies to ensure Rangers fans do not miss out on their trips to Ibrox.

The DUP MP was speaking on behalf of Glasgow Rangers supporters clubs who have been unable to travel to Scotland this Saturday.

He said: "Many have purchased season tickets and travel by ferry to every home game."

He blames the crisis on a number of events coinciding, including pilgrims going to see the Pope.

Mr Dodds said supporters clubs will want to know that they have not been singled out for the refusal of group bookings.

"These supporters clubs provide regular steady business for the ferry companies throughout the autumn, winter and spring seasons, when there are fewer other passengers, and I trust that the ferry companies will take all necessary steps to avoid letting down these loyal and regular customers in future," he said.
