Attempted armed robbery at Belfast bookmakers

Staff at a Belfast bookmakers have been left shaken after an attempted armed robbery.

Three men entered the bookmakers on Little Donegall Street at about 1900 GMT on Saturday.

One of the men was armed with a handgun and threatened staff who then locked themselves in a back room.

The men escaped empty-handed in a Ford car which was later recovered by police on the Springfield Road.

A PSNI spokesman said no-one was injured during the incident.
