Woman kicked and bitten in Belfast city centre

A 29-year-old man has been arrested after a woman was kicked and bitten in Belfast city centre on Tuesday afternoon.

The 36-year-old woman was standing at a bus stop outside Belfast Central Library on Royal Avenue at about 13:45 BST when she was assaulted.

Police said she was kicked in the face and bitten on the nose in an unprovoked attack. They have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.

The woman has been taken to hospital.
