EU debate a 'smokescreen', says UKIP leader Farage

Prime Minister David Cameron has postponed his speech on the UK's relationship with Europe, to respond to the hostage crisis in Algeria.

The speech had expected to include his vision for the UK's future role in the Europe Union.

Leader of the UK Independence Party, Nigel Farage, told BBC's Question Time the debate over Britain's role in the EU is being dominated by "economic scare stories."

Comparing the debate to a "smokescreen", he said the real question was about self-governance.
