Successor Sir John Major on Lady Thatcher's 'remarkable legacy'

Lady Thatcher's successor, Sir John Major, has paid tribute to the ''remarkable legacy'' of Britain's first female prime minister, who has died at the age of 87.

Mr Major said she was ''divisive in public ... but in private she was very different from her public image.''

''She changed British life in many remarkable ways,'' he added.
