Thatcher funeral: Bernard Jenkin on protests and legacy

Help

Lady Thatcher's funeral will be a "global event" and "the world will be watching", her friend Bernard Jenkin has said.

The Conservative MP said there was a "tiny minority who are gloating over her death" and claimed there was a "distorted record we hear so much about".

He claimed Labour councillors in Corby who walked out of a meeting with a one-minute silence for Baroness Thatcher should remember the former prime minister set up an enterprise zone after Labour closed the steel works in the Northamptonshire town.
