Help to Buy: first-time buyers on the property ladder


The Chancellor announced that the Treasury would underwrite mortgages for people who can find a 5% deposit to help them get on the property ladder.

But there are fears the Help to Buy scheme for first-time buyers could have unintended consequences, and could inflate another property bubble.

Adam Fleming reports on how the scheme is working in the East Midlands.
