1 October 2013 Last updated at 23:18 BST

Daily Mail deputy editor Jon Steafel has defended the paper's article about the father of Labour leader Ed Miliband.

On Saturday, the Mail ran an article about Ralph Miliband headlined "the man who hated Britain".

Mr Miliband has said that he is "appalled" that after offering him a right of reply, the paper had repeated its original article and also "described my father's legacy as evil".

Mr Steafel said that their article was based on Ralph Miliband's writing.
