Tim Yeo deselected as Conservative MP for South Suffolk

3 February 2014 Last updated at 19:10 GMT

The veteran Conservative MP, Tim Yeo, has failed in his efforts to be re-adopted as the Tory candidate for the South Suffolk constituency, which he has represented for the last 30 years.

Mr Yeo had sought a postal ballot of the full membership of the local party, after his local executive decided not to select him as a candidate for the next general election.

They said he had been "virtually invisible" as an MP but he disputed this.
