Police find cannabis farm 'worth £400,000' in Airdrie

A 50-year-old man has been arrested after police discovered a cannabis farm in Airdrie.

Officers searched a property in Greengairs on Wednesday and found about 1,000 plants, which have an estimated street value of £400,000.

An "extensive" heating and lighting system used to grow the plants was also discovered in the property.

Det Insp David Plunkett described it as a significant discovery and a "great result" for the Coatbridge-based unit.
