Thief robs bookmakers with hammer

A worker at a betting shop in West Dunbartonshire was left "badly shaken" after a robber brandishing a hammer demanded money from the till.

The robbery took place at Coral Bookmakers in Dalmuir at about 1915 BST on Thursday.

The suspect, who escaped with a small amount of cash, was said to be white, 30-35 years old and clean shaven with a distinctive nose.

The female staff member was unhurt in the "terrifying ordeal", police said.
