Van driver attacked in road rage

The driver of a van was pulled from his vehicle and assaulted in a road rage incident on the M90 motorway, police have said.

The assault took place near to the Broxden roundabout, on the outskirts of Perth, at about 1800 BST on Sunday.

Police said the attacker, who was driving a Vauxhall Astra, had been tailgating the Ford Transit van at speeds of up to 70mph.

The van driver was forced off the road on to the hard shoulder of the M90.

The Astra driver then stopped behind, pulled him from the vehicle and assaulted him.

The Astra was also carrying a woman and two young children.

After the incident, the Astra pulled away on to the Broxden roundabout, turned off into Perth and last seen in the Oakbank area.

The suspect was described as about 5ft 10in tall, medium to heavy build, short mousey brown hair and was wearing a blue T-shirt and three-quarter length khaki trousers.
