Family rescued after fire at flat

A family were taken to hospital after a fire in a flat in Dundee.

Fire crews were called to the scene in Stirling Street, at about 0820 BST, and they used an aerial ladder platform to rescue three adults and a child from the flat above the one that was ablaze.

A man who was in the the flat on fire was safely taken from the building as were seven other residents.

A mother, father and their child were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee as a precautionary measure.

The fire is being treated as accidental.
