The Ryder Cup golf tournament has been officially handed over to Scotland where it will be held at Gleneagles in 2014.

Scottish golfer Paul Lawrie summed up his part in Europe's sensational Ryder Cup comeback against the USA as "pretty awesome".

More than 250,000 spectators from around the world are expected to visit Perthshire.

The event is predicted to bring £100m to the local and Scottish economy during the week of the tournament.
