New homes under construction destroyed in site fire

Fire crews tackle the blaze Fire crews tackle the fire in Neilston Road

Two houses under construction have been destroyed by a fire in Neilston Road, Paisley.

Two appliances from Strathclyde Fire and Rescue attended the blaze after receiving a call at about 17.15.

The unoccupied houses, part of a row of terraced homes, had yet to have their brickwork applied.

Nobody was injured in the blaze and fire crews were remaining on the scene to make sure the fire in the timber frame was fully extinguished.

Strathclyde Police had partially closed Rowan Street to allow fire crews access to the site.
