Work starts on Aberdeen homeless development

Work has begun on a £5m homelessness accommodation and support service in Aberdeen.

The development, on the site of the former Victoria House shelter in West North Street, will include 20 supported units and 20 flats.

A three-storey block of en-suite bedsits, with a communal laundry and lounge area, will provide supported living for homeless people.

A six-storey block will have flats with one to four bedrooms.

Aberdeen City Council has been working with Kier Construction on the development.
