Gavin Shand back in custody after escape from hospital
A 30-year-old man is back in custody in the Highlands after escaping while attending a hospital accident and emergency department on Friday night.
Police said Gavin Shand was found in the Inverness area and was receiving the necessary medical attention.
They said a full inquiry into the circumstances had begun and lessons would be learnt.
Police issued an appeal after Mr Shand left Raigmore Hospital in Inverness at about 22:00 on Friday.
Highland and Islands duty officer Chief Inspector Angus MacInnes thanked members of the public who helped police trace Mr Shand.
"He is now in our custody and receiving the necessary medical attention and care," he said.
"A full inquiry into the circumstances which resulted in his escape has started and lessons will be learnt."
Police had said Mr Shand did not pose a risk to members of the public.
