Footage of sea eagle raiding Scottish Springwatch nest

3 July 2014 Last updated at 09:44 BST

Video footage has revealed the BBC Springwatch sea eagle chick being pushed out of its nest by another young eagle on the isle of Mull.

Experts said the behaviour had never been recorded before in Scotland.

The footage shows the young invader gradually move alongside the eagle chick who is screeching for its parents.

Eventually, after much wing flapping and a short fight-back from the chick, the invader forces the eight week old chick off the nest, to fall 30ft to the ground.

Forestry Commission Scotland rangers later found the chick and returned it to the nest.
