Boy, 10, seriously injured in Aberdeen accident

A 10-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a road accident in Aberdeen.

Police Scotland said the child was involved in a collision with a green Kawasaki motorbike in Cairngorm Drive at about 15:15 on Monday.

He is being treated at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for his injuries, which are not life-threatening.

A male motorcyclist aged 18 is in police custody following the accident and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Sgt Emily Hesp said: "I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or indeed the events leading up to and after it, to contact us on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous."
