Men arrested after Edinburgh bypass drugs haul

Two men have been arrested after drugs with a street value of about £25,000 were seized from a car on the Edinburgh bypass.

Police found the drugs, thought to be cocaine, in a Vauxhall Vectra on the A720.

The arrests were made as part of Operation Erase, which is targeting drug dealing in East and Midlothian.

The men, aged 31 and 38, are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

A police spokesman said: "Under Operation Erase we continue to impact upon the drugs trade, including the transportation of drugs into the area.

"The continued recovery of drugs and subsequent arrests should send a clear message to those involved in the production and distribution of drugs that we will not tolerate their activities and will robustly deal with anyone found to be responsible."
