Teenage girl indecently assaulted in Glenrothes

A 15-year-old girl has been indecently assaulted while walking along a footpath in Fife.

The teenager was walking on Glamis Path near Beaufort Drive in Glenrothes when she was attacked at about 2150 BST on Monday.

A Fife Constabulary spokesman said the girl managed to shake off her attacker and ran off.

Det Sgt Alex Raeside said the man may have followed the teenager from the town centre for some time.

The suspect was described as being in his late 30s, 6ft with short, brown hair, heavily built with a large belly.

He was wearing a white polo shirt with writing on the front and dark jeans.

Police appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
