Man rescued twice from Edinburgh fire

A man had to be rescued twice by firefighters, after he tried to rush back into a burning Edinburgh flat.

The fire started in Esdail Park, off Kilgraston Road, in the Grange area, at about 2230 BST on Thursday.

Fire crews managed to save three men and a woman but a spokesman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said one of the men had to be re-rescued after he tried to get back in.

All four were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, after inhaling smoke.
