Cannabis plants and amphetamine with a street value estimated around £20,000 have been recovered by police in Fife.

Officers from Glenrothes carried out an early morning raid on a house in the Waverley Drive area after information was provided to them.

An 18-year-old man has been detained and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.

Sgt Jim Anderson said: "This is tackling what we identify as a priority crime."

He added: "I would urge anyone with information regarding drugs to inform us so that we can plan a response such as this.

"I would also remind people in the area that they can come along to their local community engagement meeting with their community officers and influence the priorities for the area."
