A woman and a man have been rescued and others evacuated from a huge flat fire in Edinburgh.

At least 15 firefighters tackled the blaze, which started in a second-floor flat in West Port at 0800 GMT.

Lothian and Borders Police closed the westbound side of the road for an hour-and-a-half.

The pair were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was not suspicious.
