The death of a man, whose body was found at a flat in Edinburgh, is now being treated as murder.

The man has been named as 31-year-old Lee Duncan, who lived in Lauriston Place in the Tollcross area.

Police said his death at the flats was being treated as murder following a post-mortem examination.

In a statement, Mr Duncan's family said they were "devastated and shocked at the sudden and tragic loss of Lee, who was a loving son, brother and uncle".

Det Ch Insp Keith Hardie, who is leading the investigation, appealed for anyone with any information to come forward.

"We want to speak to anyone who was in the area of the flats in Lauriston Place, opposite Glen Street, from the early hours of Friday morning, who saw or heard anything suspicious," he said.

"Similarly, anyone else who has information that can help our inquiries should also get in touch, if they have not already done so."

He said there were extra police patrols in and around Lauriston Place to residents.
