Man's body found on Waverley Station roof in Edinburgh

Police are appealing for information after a man's body was found on the roof of Edinburgh's Waverley Station.

A spokesman said the man had last been seen outside the Bank Hotel on the Royal Mile at about 0415 GMT on Sunday.

His body was on the station roof, underneath North Bridge, later that morning at about 1000 GMT.

Police said the man was aged about 30 and was about 5ft 10in, with short dark hair and glasses. He was wearing a blue and black striped shirt.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "We are appealing to anyone who thinks they saw the man between 4am and 4.30am to contact us in order that we can build a full picture of his final movements."
