Body found in Lower Largo search for missing diver

A man's body has been found during a search for a missing scallop diver who went missing in the Firth of Forth on Thursday.

The 42-year-old Glenrothes man, who is believed to have been an experienced diver, disappeared at 1300 GMT on Thursday off the coast at Lower Largo.

Fife Constabulary confirmed a body was recovered from the water at 1930 GMT.

There had been extensive searches in the area by police divers, supported by Central Scotland Police Diving Team.

A Royal Navy rescue helicopter and Kinghorn Lifeboat also took part in the search.

The body has not yet been formally identified.
