Cyclist killed in Broughton Road lorry crash is named

Police have named the cyclist who died in a road collision in Edinburgh on Thursday.

Craig Newton, 32, was riding his bike near to Broughton Primary School at about 0750 BST when he was involved in the collision with a council lorry.

Police said they are continuing to make inquiries into the incident.

In particular, officers want to speak to a cyclist wearing a yellow tabard who was seen near Mr Newton prior to the collision.

The junction of Broughton Road and East Claremont Road was closed for a time while investigations were carried out.
