Dance music star Jonas Erik Altberg will fight allegations he sexually assaulted two women while performing at a Fife nightclub, a court has heard.

The performer, known as Basshunter, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court over allegations he attacked the pair at the town's Kitty's nightclub.

He is alleged to have grabbed one girl by the hair and pushed her head towards his groin on 10 December 2010.

The 26-year-old was released on bail. His trial starts on 18 May.

Leaving the court building, the Swedish star shook the hand of a court officer, and lit a cigarette before walking down the steps to be met by his manager Scott Simons, who drove him away.

Mr Simons earlier said that the allegations were "totally untrue".

Mr Altberg scored a UK number one single with Now You're Gone in 2007, as well as hitting top spot across Europe with Boten Anna.

He also featured in last year's final series of Celebrity Big Brother, losing out to eventual winner Katie Price's former cagefighting husband Alex Reid.
