Satellite broadcaster Sky has announced it is to create 50 new finance jobs at its Scottish operation in Livingston.

The posts will be based at Alba Campus, close to Sky's current site in the West Lothian town.

The company is to recruit from a range of backgrounds, from graduates through to skilled and experienced finance professionals.

In March, Sky announced it was creating 100 new posts at its Scottish customer contact centre in Livingston.

The latest roles include financial controllers and analysts.

As part of the intake, Sky will be launching its first Scottish finance graduate scheme, sponsoring six candidates through the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) exams.

They will join the existing 40 graduates currently working in finance across a variety of roles in a number of areas.

Denise Allan, Sky's director of operational finance, said: "We are looking for driven and talented individuals to fill these roles - people who will help the finance team work even better on behalf of the business."

The company is preparing to relocate a number of staff, including HR and IT teams, into the Watermark building at Alba Campus.

The move into the new premises will be complete by the end of the summer.

Sky currently employs 16,500 people across the UK and Ireland, some 6,000 of which are based at Scottish contact centres in Livingston, Dunfermline and Uddingston.

Two years ago, the broadcaster opened a £2m training and recruitment centre in its Kirkton Campus in Livingston.
