Bedridden woman killed in Livingston fire named

A bedridden woman who died after a fire in her cottage in West Lothian has been named by police.

Irene Herpich, 73, died in the blaze at Nether Dechmont Cottages, Livingston.

Fire crews went to the scene at 2200 BST on Saturday after West Lothian Careline told them a heat detector in the property had activated.

They found Ms Herpich dead in her bed in the living room where the fire had started. There were no suspicious circumstances.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
