Man dies while in police custody in Fife

A man has died while in custody in a cell at a Fife police station.

The 31-year-old was found unconscious in Dunfermline police station on Sunday at about 1900 BST.

Fife Constabulary said he was given medical help before he was taken to Queen Margaret Hospital where he died a short time later.

The man's family have been informed. Officers from Lothian and Borders are to conduct an investigation and provide a report to the procurator fiscal.
