The family of a man who died two weeks after being assaulted in Fife has paid tribute to a "much-loved father and grandfather".

Alexander Ormiston, 63, was injured at a house in Rosyth on 18 May but did not go to hospital until five days later and he died on 3 June.

Brian Kennedy, 30, from Glenrothes, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Tuesday accused of his murder.

He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

Mr Ormiston's family said: "Alexander Ormiston was a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother."

The date for Mr Kennedy's next court appearance has not yet been set.
