Edinburgh police investigate racial abuse robbery
A man has been robbed at knife-point close to a supermarket in the south of Edinburgh.
Lothian and Borders Police said that the 23-year-old, who is from India, was racially abused during the attack.
The robbery took place at about 2200 BST on Sunday, as the victim was walking towards the Tesco store in Colinton Mains Drive.
He was forced to hand over a small amount of cash and personal belongings.
Officers have appealed for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the attack to come forward.
The man who carried out the robbery is described as black, 25 to 30 years old, 6ft tall with an athletic build. He was wearing a black leather hooded top and dark jeans.
A police spokesman said: "While the victim was uninjured, the experience obviously left him shaken and upset at the loss of his possessions."
