Lifeboat used to rescue ill man on cruise ship

A 75-year-old tourist holidaying on a cruise liner had to be taken to shore by lifeboat after falling ill.

The Australian man reported breathing difficulties while on board the "Eurodam", which was off the coast of East Lothian, at about 0200 BST.

A coastguard spokesman said Dunbar lifeboat was involved in the operation which he described as a "routine medical evacuation procedure".

The man was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
