Biker injured in M8 crash at Broxburn

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash on the M8 in West Lothian.

The 48-year-old biker, who is a Chinese national, was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Meriva on the westbound carriageway at Broxburn.

It happened at about 2340 BST on Thursday. The motorcyclist was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he remained in a serious condition.

Lothian and Borders Police have appealed for witnesses.

One lane of the carriageway was closed while investigations were carried.
