Arrest after assault on blind man on train at Haymarket

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with an assault on a blind man on a train.

The 28-year-old man was travelling from Aberdeen to Edinburgh on 4 April when the incident is said to have happened.

As the service approached Haymarket Station at about 1625 BST he was allegedly punched by another passenger as he talked on his mobile phone.

British Transport Police said a 48-year-old man was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
