Woman escapes as car plunges off cliff near Montrose
A woman has been pulled to safety after her car went over a cliff and fell into the sea.
Forth Coastguard said they were called to the village of Ethie Haven, to the south of Lunan Bay near Montrose, at about 1340.
The woman, thought to be in her 20s, managed to scramble to safety as the vehicle plunged about 15m after going over the cliff.
She was pulled on to rocks by a member of the public.
Her injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
A spokeswoman for Forth Coastguard said: "Quite a few members of the public saw it happen.
"The female managed to escape the vehicle and was pulled on to nearby rocks by a member of the public. We launched an inshore lifeboat and an all-weather one.
"She had a very lucky escape."
