Police plea after gang assault on teenager in Edinburgh
A teenager has been attacked and robbed by a gang of youths as he walked home in Edinburgh.
Police said the 17-year-old was approached by a group of males at about 23:00 on Friday in the Duddingston Park area of the city.
He was punched on the face and body and his mobile phone was stolen.
A police spokesman said the assault was a "frightening experience" and urged anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
One of the suspects was described as white, late teens, medium to heavy build with short dark hair.
He was wearing a distinctive white tracksuit top with blue square or rectangular panels on either side of the zip.
