Girls rescued from Standing Stanes Road quarry cliff

Three young girls have been rescued by firefighters after getting stuck on a cliff face in a Fife quarry in "hazardous" conditions.

The girls raised the alarm at 19:45 on Tuesday after descending 20ft down the cutaway face of the quarry on Standing Stanes Road by East Wemyss.

They had a 100ft drop below them.

Emergency services, including specialist line officers from Fife Fire and Rescue Service, managed to take them to safety. No-one was hurt.
